Held at Stoke Ferry Village Hall on 11 May 2024. This was a wonderful interactive display of Stoke Ferry’s historic High Street.
Members of the public discovered old photos, videos, maps and advertisements. These items featured all the High Street houses, businesses and places of worship. They did by walking along a recreated High Street. It ran from The Corner Shop to All Saint’s Church. It also extended from The Hall and Favor Parker’s to the Village Hall.
It was such a special day for those who had worked for Favor Parker. It was also special for those who remembered living, shopping, attending places of worship. Others recalled banking at Barclays on the High Street.
Photos and documents were brought on the day. Personal stories, memories and recollections were recorded as well.
Our special thanks go to the Village Hall volunteers. They organised the refreshments and helped make the day such a success.
