You are kindly invited to a local history display at Christ Church, the parish church in Whittington. It will be held on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday May 31st and June 1st.
This will be part of a weekend celebration of the church’s 150th anniversary (see attached)
Our display will be focusing on various aspects of Whittington village’s history (Maps, Directories, Whittington Pottery, The Maltings, Crouch’s, Hunting History, etc.). While, local historian Carol Lee has created an exhibition on the history of the church itself.
The church will be open on Saturday from 10am-4pm and on Sunday 9.30am – 4pm with refreshments on both days. There will be a commemorative religious service on Sunday at 9.30am led by the Archdeacon of Huntingdon and Wisbech.
Do come along and view our display. If you have memories, photos, or documents of Whittington, bring them. They can be recorded and added to our growing local history archive.
