Hello everyone,

Firstly, It was great to see so many of our members at last night’s talk at Methwold on Roman remains along the Fen Edge; a huge thank you to Helaine Wyett for her contribution on her Romano-British finds in Wretton.

Following on from the two recent talks on The Iceni and the Roman occupation in East Anglia organised by the Methwold History Group, here are details of a short talk by Dr Alice Lyons on Roman Pottery at The Ancient House Museum, Thetford:  Tuesday, 9 September 2025 • 14:00 – 15:00 – Cost £5.https://www.museums.norfolk.gov.uk/article/71858/An-Update-on-Roman-Pottery—Dr-Alice-Lyons

A further date for your diary:

A presentation and open discussion on the historical associations between our communities and those immigrants, evacuees, refugees and ex-service men who settled in our area within living memory: Tuesday 30 September, Community Room, All Saints School, Stoke Ferry. Doors open 7pm for 7.30pm start. I know many local people recall individuals from Poland, Ukraine, Italy, etc who made our district their home and worked in our area. Do get in touch if you have stories, or just come along and share on the night.

Kind regards,
